A Queensland family is seeking public assistance to bring home their 29-year-old daughter who tragically died in a fall at a popular Indonesian tourist spot.
Brianna Cronin died after falling from a cliff at Kelingking Beach on Nusa Penida island, east of Bali, on Saturday.
Tribute to Brianna Cronin
Ms Cronin's family has released a heartfelt video paying tribute to her, describing her as "bubbly, a little quirky, a friend to everyone, and happiest out in nature."
"Brianna passed away in Bali, and right now she is so far from home," they said.
The family is calling for help to bring Ms Cronin's remains back to Australia, saying "no family should have to grieve from the other side of the world. We just want our girl home."
"She was always growing, always dreaming, and always making room for other people," they said.
Fundraiser launched
A fundraiser has been launched to repatriate Ms Cronin's remains, allowing her family to "hold her close and say goodbye."
The fundraiser described Ms Cronin as someone who "lit up every room she walked into," and noted she graduated from the University of Queensland in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts.
"She practised yoga with grace and joy, climbed mountains, explored rainforests, and travelled the world with wide-open eyes, from the lakes and peaks of Europe to the canals of Venice," her family wrote.
The family also thanked everyone who had provided support and assistance, saying "we are deeply grateful to our families and friends, to Brianna's friends and colleagues, for your love, support and condolences."
"To the consular staff and officials in Bali and Australia, thank you for taking care of her," they said.
Kelingking Beach
Kelingking Beach is one of the most popular destinations for tourists visiting Bali, with a lookout at the top of the cliff offering panoramic views of the coast nicknamed "T-Rex Beach."
Construction of a 182-metre elevator down to the beach had been taking place until the works were suspended late last year, amid widespread opposition from tourists and local politicians.
