Emergency services were initially called to the scene at the intersection of Gould Hill Road and the bustling Mount Lindesay Highway just after 2:00 PM on Monday. Investigations into the incident indicate that a Subaru Impreza and a Nissan Qashqai collided at approximately 2:14 PM, leading to the devastating outcome.
The six-year-old, who was a passenger in the Nissan Qashqai, sustained critical injuries during the impact. Paramedics worked diligently at the crash site before he was airlifted to a major hospital in Brisbane in a critical condition.
