A 47-year-old woman has been charged with two counts of attempted murder as a domestic violence offence against a child, after allegedly exposing two boys to a noxious substance at a home in Mitchelton.

Police allege the incident occurred on September 24, when the woman exposed the two boys, aged 12 and 15, to the substance. A 70-year-old man attending the residence noticed the noxious substance and reported the matter to police.

The boys were not injured and police said they are "safe and well". The woman was taken to hospital for medical treatment and discharged later that day. She was subsequently arrested by police.

The woman is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this afternoon.
