Four teenagers have been charged with murder following a violent late-night disturbance in Brisbane's south that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Redbank Plains man.

Emergency services were initially called to Discovery Boulevard in Bahrs Scrub at approximately 2:15 am on July 26, following reports of a large brawl involving a group of people. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a scene of significant destruction, including multiple damaged vehicles and a nearby home that had sustained structural damage.

A 21-year-old man was located nearby on Orchard Avenue suffering from critical head injuries. He was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries on August 1.

Coordinated Police Raids Lead to Arrests

Following a rigorous and extensive investigation, detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch, alongside the Homicide Investigation Unit, executed 14 coordinated search warrants on Thursday. The raids spanned multiple suburbs across Logan, south Brisbane, and Ipswich, resulting in the arrest of five men aged between 18 and 22.

Four of those arrested have now been charged with murder. Joshua Jackson John Jirima, 18, Amnaud Nduwayo, 19, and Kandour Khalil Tagelsir, 18, have each been charged with one count of murder.

A fourth teenager, 19-year-old Sunday Obol, faces a series of severe charges, including murder, intimidation, harassing or abuse, unlawful stalking, robbery, extortion, and deprivation of liberty.

Court Appearances and Ongoing Investigations

Mr. Jirima, Mr. Nduwayo, and Mr. Tagelsir had their cases mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday morning. None of the three co-accused appeared in person, and all were remanded in custody to next appear in court on August 24.

Additionally, a fifth man, 22-year-old Lasender Sheriff, has been charged with failing to comply with an order to provide information necessary to access electronically stored information. Mr. Sheriff did not appear during his court mention on Friday and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 26.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal confrontation and urge anyone with CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, or further information about the incident to contact local police immediately.
