Storms set to roll into weekend in central Queensland

Central Queensland is bracing for more storms over the weekend, as a severe storm system that has lashed parts of the outback and central Queensland this week continues to move east.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that an upper-level trough that moved east from Alice Springs has brought storm activity into western Queensland, with isolated showers expected to linger in the state's south-east well into next week.
Storms to continue into the weekend
Bureau of Meteorology community information officer Daniel Hayes said the system delivered 30-50 millimetres to the Highlands and Central Coalfields on Thursday, before dumping 120 millimetres in three hours in Middlemount.
