Tattoo artist brings queer joy to Gold Coast Suns AFLW Pride jumper design

A Sunshine Coast tattoo artist has brought a splash of queer joy to the Gold Coast Suns' AFLW Pride jumper, with a design that's equal parts fun and meaningful.

The team's Pride Round guernsey features a playful illustration by Mady Peters, also known as Pokey Pokes, including a rainbow football boot and a carabiner – a symbol historically associated with the women-loving-women community.

A design born of joy and self-expression

Ms Peters said the colours and characters reinforced Pride Round's message of self-expression.
