Townsville Bus Stop Robbery: 11-Year-Old Charged
A 28-year-old woman was pulled from a bus and robbed in Townsville last night, resulting in head injuries. Two 11-year-old girls were arrested and one has been charged with robbery in company using personal violence.
A violent robbery at a Townsville bus stop has led to the arrest and charging of two 11-year-old girls. The incident occurred on Flinders Lane around 7:30pm yesterday evening.
According to police, a 28-year-old woman was pulled from behind onto the ground as she was boarding a bus. It is alleged that she was then assaulted while on the ground and had property stolen from her. The woman was treated by emergency services for head injuries.
Police arrested two 11-year-old girls a short time later. One has been charged with robbery in company using personal violence. "She had bail refused yesterday and will appear in Townsville Children's Court today," a spokesperson said.
Another 11-year-old was also arrested and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
