Lions Lock Up Young Gun: Logan Morris Re-Signs Until 2029
Brisbane Lions young gun Logan Morris has re-signed with the club on a two-year deal, keeping him at the Lions until the end of 2029. The 21-year-old was one of the most sought-after players on the market next season.
Young Brisbane Lions star Logan Morris has committed his future to the club, signing a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Lions until the end of 2029.
The 21-year-old, who earned his first All-Australian blazer this year, was set to be one of the biggest names on the market at the end of next season. Morris kicked 67 goals in the 2026 home-and-away season, finishing second in the Coleman Medal behind Sydney's Charlie Curnow.
The signing comes as the Lions prepare to take on the Hawks in a preliminary final on Saturday at the MCG. It marks the third huge signing coup for the Lions in a week, after Zac Bailey and Dayne Zorko also extended their careers with the club.
"There’s no point dragging [contract negotiations] out if I know what I want to do, and I wanted to stay at Brisbane," Morris said.
"I wanted to just get it done and now I can focus on this week, and hopefully the next few years will be exciting."
When asked about interest from other clubs that may have made higher offers, Morris said he had not given much thought to the money.
"I just thought … more about what I'm happy with and the team that I'm at; I don't want to leave a team where I'm happy where I am mentally and I've got a good group of mates," he said.
"I think playing within a good team that’s got good values and playing with all my mates is more valuable to me than a bit more money, so that's what it ultimately came down to."
